In 1999, Jon graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Arts - Arts Management Degree. His direction in the arts is to position himself within the industry as specialising in performing and visual arts photography as well as a producer / manager of project based activities. He is interested in how images are used in marketing the arts and in the positioning of the arts companies.
In 2009, he was nominated for Services to Dance at the WA Dance Awards, an acknowledgement of his support and strong connection to the dance community. Jon has also been interviewed as part of ‘An Oral History of West Australian Dance’, featuring the 25 key figures from the WA dance sector over the last 15 years.
Jon sees photography as more than a creative process to record images; it is one of life style. His passion is to work with both performing artists and visual artists in producing images that are more representative of new and innovative artistic direction in terms of integrity and creative intent rather than just a photographic documentation.
